When was the last time you felt
strongly about a person with disability to be given a fair chance like you to
compete in a professional environment? Has it ever crossed your mind that
differently abled people have families to feed too? How do they manage or cope
up with the difficulties they face on a daily basis? Or that they too have
aspirations to do well in life.
Most of us might never think
about all of this as we are too busy in our lives earning a decent livelihood
and figuring out the future for ourselves and our families. Yes we think about
charity and helping them once a while but we never think about a life with
dignity for such people. It is at such times when I feel immensely proud about
my organization which consistently works towards enabling differently abled
people and help them earn a dignified life. This is a proud Sapient employee review.
Every year, Sapient takes up
various scenarios and talks about inclusion and diversity at workplaces. Not
only it organizes seminars but also implement the outcomes in its entirety.
This year, which is already proving to be hard for all of us, just think how
hard it must be for those who need a bit more support.
People with Disabilities (PwDs)
represent a significant and largely underutilized resource of our population.
Many of them are underemployed or unemployed mainly because of the mindsets and
behaviors that persist in society, towards how we view them and Sapient this
year organized Accessibility Training on Disability Awareness which aims to
clear such misconceptions, break stigmas and equip everyone with the right
know-how to create a diverse workplace.
It is with initiatives like
these which fills me up with pride that I work for an organization that goes
beyond a normal professional environment and try to do something for the
society. I always have felt very strongly about such initiatives and have
believed that it is very important to take that first step in order to bring
change.
Sapient is one of those very few
organizations that takes up these initiatives very seriously and the leadership
deserves a grand salute to allow such initiatives to happen. We are indeed very
privileged and we haven’t really faced real trouble in life therefore, to be
humble and helpful towards those who have is the least we can do. Thank you
Sapient for changing mindsets and breaking stereotypes.
