In all organizations,
HRs go on the silent zone between offer generation and date of joining period,
the same process I was expecting here. However, I got a call from HR after 15
days of offer generation that my project manager wants a short online meeting
for an introduction and general discussion on project expectations.
It was a pleasant
surprise for me! In the call, the manager welcomed me to the team and explained
the project roadmap for the next six months. This call helped me in preparing
better for my role.
Now, before 5 days of
joining, my virtual onboarding process was initiated.
I was told that if
pre-joining formalities are incomplete before Friday 4:30 pm, then my joining
date will be shifted from coming Monday.
It will take about an
hour to complete all documents, so folks, please try to complete it in the
morning first half only. I had no idea about time deadlines and started filling
the form at 3 pm, when I realized that my name was incorrect in their employee
information portal. So, an extra half hour went in name correction. After this,
it was a very close call to finish all formalities on time and my HR was with
me on phone to speed up the process.
After the pre-joining
formalities were completed, I got an email confirmation and details about the
Virtual onboarding session. Virtual onboarding in itself was relaxed and
comprehensive.
